3rd September – Return to School

We are looking forward to seeing all students on the 3rd of September.

A letter has been sent out to all student on the 24th of August explaining some of the changes your young person may find when they return.

Most students are expected to be back in school full time, some students as advised by the government will need a phased return for their social and emotional well being. Those who require Aerosol Generating Procedures including Tracheostomy or suction management will have a phased return. This will support the students in their transition from a shielded home environment back into full time school, it will also ensure hygiene protocols and PPE control measures are established effectively for the safety of the student themselves and their peer group. Students who have emotional and behavioral needs will also have a phased return to support their mental health after the long break from full time education. If your child is on a phased return you will have been contacted.

The phased return is reduced hours so your children can avoid the delays at the start and end of the day during the staggered transport window. We will continue to increase the days as your child gets used to the new systems and the PPE requirements of staff working with them, This will be reviewed on a 2 weekly basis by class staff and the senior leadership team.
